The sailing equipment has been removed and we converted it into a rowing boat and prepared it to be lived on. For those who know the terms, it will be rigged as a double; however we will be using longer sweep style oars with spoon blades to help compensate for the height variance from a racing shell. We will use standard rowing components such as the seats, slides, and oarlocks, but we designed custom foot stretchers and riggers to fit the boat. Basically what this means is that it will be set up for two people to row with a sliding seat and two oars (12.5’ long) each. The boat does have a small cabin for sleeping and storing gear. We have also built a bimini top with sides to cover the cockpit area that will allow for protection from weather and extra living space.
